My Story

25 years ago, I had no idea what a food intolerance was! I did not know how a food intolerance could affect me. I certainly did not know that feeling shattered after lunch and getting bloated most days was simply caused by eating a food that my body did not like.

My Son was a year old. I was eating what I considered to be the right foods. As you know from my story last week, everything that I used was natural and good for me and my young family. So why was I struggling to lose the weight that I had gained during my second pregnancy? Why did I feel so sleepy in the afternoons?

At the time, I didn’t really question it. I was a new Mum and I guessed that it was normal to feel tired whilst looking after small children. I had also experienced a few cases of inflamed tonsils in recent months. Something wasn’t right. I was becoming frustrated and fed up.

As many of you know, as a busy Mum you do not get much time to yourself, but one Saturday afternoon I managed to ‘escape’ for an hour. I wandered along the High Street just enjoying the freedom of exploring a few shops without little ones in tow. I found myself in the Town Hall where there was a Health event taking place. I had a very random conversation with a lady who suggested that I may have food intolerances. Using her pendulum, she said that I should avoid 3 foods.

I have to say that I was pretty sceptical. But I guess my Inner Hippy kicked in and I decided to try what she had recommended.

I was amazed how different I felt, within days!

I felt so much better. I had extra energy and I no longer experienced sudden blood sugar drops during the afternoon. My husband said that he was surprised when he got a smile from me on his arrival home one night.

The old Jack was back!

I found a therapist who was able to confirm my intolerances and who also identified some vitamin and mineral deficiencies. My health continued to improve, and my baby weight began to shift. This is when I knew that I was going to study nutrition and help people to manage their food intolerances.

That was 23 years ago, and I still thoroughly enjoy being able to do this for my clients. I get them instant, accurate results and then provide the support that is sometimes needed to work through the dietary and lifestyle changes.

If you can identify with my story, get in touch. I’d love to work with you x

P.S. I don’t use a pendulum, I have a really cool machine to do the work for us.
